Patricia K Farris, M.D. is a clinical assistant professor at Tulane University School of Medicine and in private practice in Metairie, Louisiana. She is a leader in her field and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology (2017-2021). In addition to being a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, she is also a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, International Society for Cosmetic Dermatology and the prestigious American Dermatologic Association.

Dr. Farris has over 30 years of experience in clinical practice and research. She is a leading authority on cosmetic procedures, topical skincare, cosmeceuticals, nutrition and nutraceuticals. She is a sought after consultant to cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies where she helps guide product development and overall strategic direction. Dr. Farris has served as a consultant to L'Oreal, Nivea, Neutrogena, Neostrata, Obagi Medical, Johnson & Johnson and Skinceuticals.

She is editor and contributor to the textbook Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Practice. (Wiley Publishing, 2014) Her best-selling consumer book The Sugar Detox explores the relationship between sugar, health and aging (DeCapo Press, 2013). Dr. Farris serves on the editorial board for Dermatology Times, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology. She has authored numerous publications and textbook chapters and delivered more than 100 scientific presentations. In addition, Dr. Farris serves as a media expert for the American Academy of Dermatology conducting interviews on a variety of subject related to dermatology and skincare. She has appeared in numerous health-related television segments and conducted numerous radio interviews. Dr. Farris is a featured guest on WWL-TV's The Morning Show (CBS affiliate) where she appears monthly.
