She earned her summa cum laude Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College in Flushing, New York, and her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Jampel's Internship was spent at Baltimore City Hospital, with her Residency in Dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She was Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, in 1978, recertified in 2009, and was a fellow in Dermatopathology at Johns Hopkins in 1988.
